From August 6–10 in Spring Valley, New York, the CARE 1 Conference – The Arc of Becoming brought together doctors, educators, midwives, therapists, and caregivers to explore one of life’s most profound questions: How do we welcome children into this world — not just physically, but with the spiritual, emotional, and human care they deserve?
CARE 1 is guided by the Medical Section of the School of Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum, an international network of doctors, educators, and therapists dedicated to advancing holistic, compassionate care. This was the first time this Goetheanum-rooted gathering had taken place outside of Switzerland — a pioneering step in uniting the Medical and Pedagogical Sections to reimagine how we support the youngest among us.

Through thoughtful presentations, workshops, and heartfelt dialogue, participants in the conference explored how to meet children’s growing developmental and therapeutic needs with love, clarity, and understanding — building a foundation of trust that can last a lifetime. Affirming our belief that love is the foundation of all care, Love Button supports spaces for collaboration and shared learning, planting seeds for a future where love shapes every child’s beginning.
