Mom who attended every class with quadriplegic son gets honorary MBA

After becoming a quadriplegic as the result of an accident, Marty O’Connor knew he had to find a new purpose for his life. He decided he was going back to school to get his MBA at Chapman University in Orange, California. There was one problem; he couldn’t hold a pen in his hand to take notes. That’s when Marty’s mom, Judy, stepped in to be his hands for him, attending every single class over the course of two years with her son.

Imagine Judy’s surprise when, on Marty’s graduation day, she was presented with her own honorary MBA by the college board for her diligence and dedication. In tears, Judy gratefully accepted her degree from the university to a standing ovation from the crowd.
